Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. Put another way, finding joy in God satisfies us and glorifies God. This gladness calls us to invite others in. "Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you." (Psalm 63:3). To do this we have to risk making life choices rooted in the trust that making much of Jesus is more satisfying than anything else.
How do we use our money? Our time? What about Jesus' words "Do not be anxious, saying 'what shall we eat?' or ' what shall we drink?' or 'what shall we wear'? For the Gentiles seek after all these things" (Matthew 6:31-32). Our lives can be about getting and maintaining things... or our lives can be about joy in God - and using our possessions to serve and to make others glad in God.
